Frequently Asked Questions
We get a lot of questions around custom orthotics. Check these questions out and if your question still is not answered, head on over to our contact us page and we will be happy to help answer any questions you have.
There is a common misconception that orthotics should match the natural shape of your arch. However, with over 100 years of experience and three generations dedicated to advancing foot health, we've learned a different approach.

Most people don't experience any issues when they try their SheepFeet for the first time, but it's not uncommon to go through a brief break-in period. If this happens, wear your SheepFeet for a couple of hours, then take them off for a few hours, similar to how you might adjust to a new pair of glasses.
It's also like starting a new workout routine—your body needs time to adapt to the new movement and support.
During this time, your feet are getting used to the added support, and your muscles and ligaments are adjusting to their proper function.

Half length is shorter and will fit in almost any shoe or boot. These can be switched from shoe to shoe quick and easy.
Full Length has padding that will extend out beyond your toes and will be a little harder to move from shoe to shoe if they are made for one specific shoe or boot.Â
When using the SheepFeet app and 3D scanning, your SheepFeet Custom Orthotic's will take around 10 business days (Monday - Friday) to build plus additional shipping time.
When using the impression kit it can take an additional 2 weeks due to the shipping times associated with mailing the kit to the customer and then back to SheepFeet.
Production time may vary and be longer depending on production volume.Â
After your order is placed you will need to download the SheepFeet App from the Apple App Store on an iPhone 10 or newer so you can scan your feet. Use your email from the order and order number to login.

No. Because SheepFeet orthotics are unique to you, each customer will need to make their own account with a unique email to place an order.
This ensures that the order is being made to the correct individuals foot each time an order is placed.
If you ordered Half Length then you do not need to take out the insole. Some footwear has padding in the arch area and can cause the SheepFeet Orthotic not sit right in the shoe. If you feel like this is your case take the insole out and buy a flat insole that will allow your new SheepFeet Orthotic to sit in the shoe correctly.
If you ordered Full Length take the insole out to make room for your SheepFeet Orthotic. This will take the place of the insole.
When you receive your SheepFeet the cushioned portion in the forefoot is left extra wide and long and will need to be trimmed to fit.
Check out our Trimming video HERE.
Because SheepFeet are built to your foot, it is not uncommon for the orthotic to push out sides of your footwear a little.

We use two methods to capture your foot mold:
- Download our SheepFeet app and scan your feet using an iPhone 10 or newer.
- Receive an impression foam kit by mail.
Both methods provide the same accurate foot measurements needed to create your custom SheepFeet orthotics.
You can use any iPhone 10 or newer to complete the scans. If your iPhone has the front facing depth camera that unlocks your phone with your face, it should work.
At this time the SheepFeet app needed for the digital scans is not available on Android.
It is in the works and will be released at a later date.
If your impression kit is damaged in shipping you can contact us and we will send you out a replacement.
Reach out to us at support@sheepfeetoutdoors.com and provide pictures of the damaged kit for insurance purposes.
ABSOLUTELY! You can wear your SheepFeet all day every day and for any activity. We recommend getting a combo package and using the half length SheepFeet to slip from shoe to shoe for your daily activities, and leave the full length SheepFeet in your hunting boots.
Some doctors use a pre-fabricated orthotic which is sub-standard. Here at SheepFeet your Custom Orthotic is 100% CUSTOM. We use the highest quality materials available, to take the wear and tear caused from hard hunting. So to answer your question YES! But Better!
Your SheepFeet Foot Frame Custom Orthotics should last for years. The padding and top covers will wear out, but they can be replaced. If you hunt hard and hike a lot, we recommend having your Sheep Feet restored every 1-2 years.
See our Orthotic Restore HERE
Your SheepFeet Foot Frame is warrantied for 2 years for normal wear and tear.
It is highly recommended to check often under your orthotics for rocks and hard debry. If rocks or debry gets in your boot and under your orthotics, continuously walking on it can cause the Foot Frame to break and that will not be covered under the warranty. Â
The Dura cover, XC2 padding, and Heel Stabilizer are warrantied for 1 year. It is a good idea to do a SheepFeet restore every 1-2 years. Due to sweat, and wear and tear, your SheepFeet can get a little gross depending on how regularly you use them.Â
We will keep your digital foot scans forever. Any new order placed will pull the most recent scan we have on file for you.
When shipping Internationally, We cannot provide you with a return label. Because we do not ship with the specific shipping service from every country you will need to pay for return shipping of your impression kit.
